Standard Construction This is the usual cost-effective method of constructing stairs. Wedges and glue blocks are used in the construction of the staircase. The underside needs to be covered to hide this with plasterboard, veneers or paneling (not included as standard).

Exposed back stairs The tread and riser box formation is housed tightly into the string with screws and plugs, removing the need for wedges and blocks. This creates an impressive feature to the underside of the stairs. This is a more expensive option.

Mini Open Riser These stairs are manufactured with a shorter solid riser and thicker tread allowing light to flow through the staircase. The top will be closed to cover your joist.

Cut string stairs The string is cut to follow the treads and risers, spindles sit directly on the tread to create either a traditional or contemporary style.
